Here Come the Brides

I haven't talked about Wed & Roses in a while!  Things have been going great with my wedding cake toppers!  I'm still getting the word out, but my little wedding cake topper business is growing slowly but surely.  As I mentioned last week, I will be showcasing Wed & Roses Wedding Cake Toppers, along with Zelma Rose Bridal designs on June 23 & 24.  Here's the info again:

I'm really looking forward to my first Bridal Show!  I'm so excited to meet my couples face-to-face!

On Monday I met with Bay Area based Wedding Planner Rebecca Pfiffner of Be Hitched for a lovely ladies brunch.  If you are getting married and you don't know Rebecca, time to give her a call.  Two words, SHE'S AMAZING!  Check out her Pinterest boards for a peek at her style. I'm always re-pinning her pins to my wedding inspiration boards.

I'm also excited to announce that Wed & Roses and Zelma Rose Handmade Goods are now part of the Pink Cloud 9 vendor resource guide!   Hooray!!  I have been crushing on Pink Cloud for some time now.  These ladies are on the forefront of all things DIY.  Their Pinterest boards are rockin'! I read their blog all the time and I'm thrilled to be a part of the Pink Cloud 9 magic!

If you haven't been over to check out my Pinterest boards, what are you waiting for?  I LOVE Pinterest!  Take a peek and let me know what kinds of things you are looking for.  What wedding themes do you want to see?  Color Palettes?  Accessories?  Flowers?  Lay it on me!

Happy Wednesday Lovelies!  Stay tuned, tomorrow I'm revealing my newest Wed & Roses design!!

OMG MARTHA!

I am tickled!  My newest retailer, Milk Handmade is featured in this month's Martha Stewart Living as part of a piece highlighting top pick destinations in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood!

Martha Stewart Living

Martha Stewart Living

I'm only mildly obsessed with Martha!  Seriously, mad respect for the woman that turned creativity into a business.  She paved the way for many of us to do what we love and love what we do.  Plus she has been to jail, which means she can probably kick ass and knows how to use a shiv.  It is my dream to be in Martha Stewart someday.  The magazine, the show, everything!  To meet her would be divine and totally scary.  She's fierce.  What would I even say?

"Nice to meet you."

What would you say if you met one of your inspirations?

Pretty in Pink

I love pink.

I went through a phase in college where I was anti-pink.  I think most women do.  I still wore pink, but ironically.  Yeah, how hipster is that?  Now, with a little toddler girl at home, pink is hard to ignore.  She loves it, wants to wear it and gravitates toward everything pink and sparkly.  Inspired by her passion for pink, I am busy in the studio working on some new designs that are pink and pastel centric.  Not quite ready to photograph yet, but stay tuned and I'll give you all a sneak peek as soon as they are primped and pretty. In the mean time, I just love this J Crew dress.  Perfect for summer, running around barefoot and a great canvas for some beautiful jewelry!

Honey & The Bride

Last week I had lunch with friend and stellar designer Stephanie Bodnar of Honey Cooler Handmade.

Stephanie and I met a while back through a mutual crafty friend, and have been talking about working together ever since.  Over an incredibly delicious waterfront lunch, Stephanie let me in on the details of her newest adventure.  She's going bridal!!  We both are!!

I've been creating bespoke bridal collections for some time now, but I have never participated in an official bridal show.  I'm so excited to announce that I will be setting up shop at "I Do." June 23 & 24 Firehouse 8 will be buzzing with some of the best in bridal.  Stop by and say hello!  Stephanie and I will be on hand selling our ready made and bespoke wares along with Rose La Mer Headpieces and others.  If you are about to say I do, or looking for some lovelies, this event is sure to please.

I'm really excited to officially be a part of the bridal design market!  I'm busy working on Pocket Squares, Cake Toppers and lots of bridal jewelry.  Many more shows to come!  Stephanie and I hope to see you there!

How to Fold a Pocket Square

Last week, a few friends and I headed over to the Stitch Labs Office Party.  In case you haven't heard, I heart Stitch!  I use their product to manage my inventory and I also blog for them, so it was with great pride and excitement that I headed on over to their new office space for a little fun.  Friend, photographer, and Awfully Grand partner Sarah Deragon had asked for a selection of my Pocket Squares for one of her photo shoots. I was happy to oblige and brought a bounty along to the party.  Before I knew it I was giving Sarah and a small captive audience a lesson in how to fold the perfect pocket square.  Here are some shots that Sarah took of my impromptu Puff Fold tutorial:

Step 1: Go Bold. (PTTP 2012)

Step 2: Find the Mid-Point and Pinch (PTTP 2012)

Step 3: Gather the Mid-Point (PTTP 2012)

Step 4: Close up (PTTP 2012)

Step 5: Flip it and Place in Pocket (PTTP 2012)

And there you have it.  The perfect fold in 5 easy steps! Now get folding! The link to the Pocket Square can be found here.

Happy June!

Happy June Everyone!

I was just looking at my previous blog post and I can't believe it was a few weeks ago.  Sheesh!  Where does the time go?!  And to think, one of my goals for this year was to post on the ZR Blog everyday. I'll keep working on that one.  Here's a recap of what has been going on:

Sarah & I were featured over on the Noisette Academy Blog with a lovely little post about our love for San Francisco.   If you don't read The Academy, go on over and check it out.  We heart Isa over at Awfully Grand and I know that you will too.

I have been busy posting some new items over at the shop.  I'll give you a full report next week, but in the meantime, since we got started with a little sunshine, here's a preview of what you can expect to find:

Yellow & Grey Statement Necklace in Silver Tone

If you have a chance to go on over to my shop, please let me know what you think!

Iv'e got some great events coming up in the next few months.  I'm happy to say that the show over at Studio Gallery was a huge success!  I'm so proud to have been featured along with my fellow SF Etsians.  I'm so inspired by all the wonderful creativity going on in SF!

June 23 & 24 I will be participating in an exclusive bridal trunk show event over at Firehouse 8.  This will be my first official Bridal Show and I'm so looking forward to meeting with bride's face to face and creating some bespoke Zelma Rose wedding designs!  I had lunch with friend and show organizer Stephanie Bodnar of Honey Cooler Handmade yesterday, and yes it was fabulous!  I'll be sure to fill you in on all the details of our lunch date soon.

AND then of course there is Renegade Craft Fair!  I'll be participating again this year July 21 & 22 at Fort Mason.

Lots more on the horizon!  So let's give this blogging everyday thing a try, okay?

Have a great weekend and enjoy the sun!
